Three years ago, Julius (Dehan) Zhang would never have believed what was coming down the road in his fledgling professional hockey career.

It takes a community to help develop a young soccer player.

One of the founding members of the Kajaks Track and Field Club, Anne Covell Cliff, has passed away. Covell Cliff, an Olympic 400-metre runner, was one of the founding members of the Richmond Track and Field Club, later known as the Kajaks.

A former top flight soccer referee and player, with more than 70 years of dedication to the sport, has been inducted into the Soccer Hall of Fame of British Columbia.

"If I don't like who gets in, there's a good chance I'll be moving out to Vancouver."

For Eric Bernal, president of the Richmond Jets Minor Hockey Association, the timing could not have been better.

The Richmond Minor Football League (RMFL) has donated $1,000 to the BC Cancer Foundation.

The Richmond-based Connaught Skating Club had a successful tilt at the annual BC Section Autumn Leaves Competition on the weekend. The club had 40 skaters competing against the best of their rivals in the province and came away with 15 medals.
