WHEN news broke early Sunday morning that a tentative agreement had been reached between the millionaire-club players' association and the billionaire-club National Hockey League owners, local fan reaction was curiously muted.

As British Columbians start to debate the future of our troubled ferry service, we would be well served as passengers, voters and taxpayers to come to grips with the implications of the decision we face.

The Editor, December 24 was the morning I went to emergency at Richmond Hospital. Having a heart beat of 190 sealed my fate that I was staying awhile. So began my week-long adventure in Richmond's hospital.

I've been celebrating the holidays by watching and re-watching some of the old Universal horror classics. Nothing goes down as easy as a big glass of egg nog and a double feature of Frankenstein and Creature From the Black Lagoon.
