New ‘ultra-affordable’ airline offers tickets from YVR to Calgary for $49

The new Calgary-based airline is now offering tickets for flights to five destinations across the country.

A new Calgary-based airline is offering flights between YVR to Calgary for as low as $49.

A new Calgary-based airline is offering one-way flights between Vancouver International Airport (YVR) to Calgary for as low as $49. 

Meanwhile, flight between YVR and Kelowna are $39. 

Billed as a “new ultra-affordable airline,” Lynx Air launched its new bookings website Wednesday, offering tickets for flights to the first five destinations: Toronto, Vancouver, Calgary, Kelowna and Winnipeg. 

According to a media release, the new airline is preparing to take to the skies on April 7 from Calgary to YVR and the services will be increased to twice daily between these two travel hubs by late May of this year. 

Meanwhile, Toronto will be added to the Lynx network on April 11, starting with four flights a week from Calgary to seven flights a week on April. 18. Daily flights between YVR and Toronto will be launched in late April of 2022. 

Lynx noted in the release that it would continue to expand by adding more cities to its network throughout May. 

Merren McArthur, CEO of Lynx Air, said by May, Lynx will be operating 76 flights per week and “that’s just the beginning.”

“We will continue to add destinations and routes as we ramp up for the busy summer season, offering even more choice and flexibility to Canadians. Stay tuned for more announcements soon,” said McArthur.
