Four scheduled power outages expected in Richmond this week

There are a number of power outages planned for Richmond this week

Three areas of Richmond will experience power outages this week as BC Hydro has scheduled repair and replacement work.

BC Hydro plans regular power outages to perform work on equipment or power lines that require them to be de-energized, according to its website.

“By planning the outage and doing the necessary work, our crews can prevent a potential unplanned emergency outage in the future, where a part of the system unexpectedly fails or malfunctions,” says BC Hydro's website.

Here are the power outages scheduled for this week:.

June 16 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Planned work on BC Hydro equipment will affect 22 customers at:

  • 7000 Blundell Rd.
  • 8008 to 8239 Gilbert Rd

June 17 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Pole replacement work will affect 11 customers at:

  • 9511, 9513, 9515, 9531, 9551, 9555, 9571, 9575, 9577, 9579, 9611 Geal Rd.

June 18 from 8 to 9 a.m. and 4 to 5 p.m.

Planned work on BC Hydro equipment will affect 18 customers at:

  • 7140 and 7260 Granville St.
  • 7051 Moffatt Rd.

June 18 from 8:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Planned work on BC Hydro equipment will affect six customers at:

  • 20911 Dyke Rd.
  • 7500 No. 9 Rd.
