The Rotary Club of Richmond recently donated $11,000 to the Rotary Hospice House, in memory of one of the beloved club members.

Earlier this month, the Rotary Club of Richmond raised $11,000 to honour Philip Li, a lifelong Rotary member who passed away in October this year.

The money will be used to support the hospice, a low-rise building with 10 bedrooms on No. 4 Road.

Li, who had been a firm supporter of the hospice, joined the Rotary in 1979 in Hawaii, and he became a member of the Richmond branch in 1984.

He served as the president of the branch from 2000 to 2001, taking on various leadership roles.

The money was raised through club members, family, friends and the Richmond Rotary Foundation.
