Dear Editor, I really enjoyed watching the Olympics in Rio on TV; I think Canada did very well. I am now looking forward to the report from the folks that went to Rio representing Richmond City Hall and the Oval.

Dear Editor, We can predict and control a great deal of what will happen in the future because we are designing that future today.

Many garden clubs, including Richmond Garden Club, continue to be asked to assist community organizations develop “healing gardens.” Healing gardens are usually related to green spaces in hospitals and other care facilities.

Dear Editor, Phoenix Art Workshop has hosted successful and well attended Grand Prix of Art competitions in Ladner and Richmond. This year, the Richmond challenge will not be held due to logistical challenges. That is a pity.

My son was only about four our five years old when he was insistent we go to Garry Point Park one day to “look for something and I know where it is,” he explained in that fulsome way kids have.

First come the grey hairs. Then the crepey goose neck skin. Next thing you know you’re buying shoes for comfort instead of sex appeal. The ultimate capitulation is the Tilley hat and 60 sunscreen. And that’s just the beginning. Orthotics? Sign me up.

Dear Editor, Re: “Enough already of the Onni versus city council fight,” News Aug. 10. I have read this letter and others with similar content and have been left with one thought, “what a great attitude.” I’m being sarcastic, of course.
