Dear Editor, Re: “Raising flag raises irem,” News, Oct. 5. I completely disagree that any level of Canadian government should celebrate other countries’ independence days.

I admit, it’s bizarre that I should feel so uplifted from an evening marked by depression and mental illness. Call me perverse, but such was the case, following the annual Pathways Clubhouse fundraiser Tuesday.

Dear Editor, Re: “Canadian values lacking in some speculators,” Letters, Sept. 16. The letter writtern by Rustom Dubash was very well said and true to the point.

Dea Editor, The Richmond Board of Education would like to recognize World Teachers’ Day on Oct. 5 and thank all teachers within our district for the tremendous contributions they make every day.

Open letter to Richmond city council, We are suffering here in Steveston with the foul stink of the compost facility. Please fix it as soon as is possible — it is dreadful, it wakes us up at night and it’s almost constant now. It never lets up.

Open letter to MLA John Yap, I voted for you and the (B.C.) Liberal Party last election. I voted expecting that you would lead and represent the Richmond-Steveston constituency. So far, you have failed.

Dear Editor, Re: “District juggles flip flopping Ministry, angry parents,” News, Sept. 30. I wanted to clarify a few points from your article.

Dear Editor, Re: “MLAs should stand up or step down,” Letters, Sept. 28. We hope to address and clarify a few points with respect to Ms. Nowitsky’s letter to the editor. Over the years, we have visited numerous public schools in Richmond.

I call this the “layering” season. You start out the day in warm clothes, change to summer shorts and t-shirt midday, and back to warm clothes for the evening.

Dear Editor, Re: “If you didn’t walk, don’t talk,” Letters Aug. 12. All the pioneers who have contributed so much to Richmond/Steveston development must have been offended by Gordon Kibble’s letter.
