Dear Editor, BC Assessment has made us all very rich overnight by increasing our assets values by 42 per cent in a year. All the analysts and real estate brokers have been saying that the house prices reached last year are not sustainable.

Dear Editor, Over the past few weeks, when snow and ice were blanketing most of the ground, I noticed that beneath trees, the ice and snow melted faster, sometimes even leaving the sidewalks bare and dry.

Dear Editor, Re: “At least you have property,” Letter, Jan. With reference to this letter, do you own a car? What year? Do you ride a bike to work? Do you have a 35-inch TV or anything bigger? Get with it, millenial.

Dear Editor, I attended the planning committee meeting on Jan. 17 where the idea of launching a lengthy public consultation process regarding house sizes in the Agriculture Land Reserve was discussed.

Dear Editor, We live beside a vital waterway crucial to countless B.C. industries, as well as transport and tourism. Because of oil pipeline approvals, it’s said tanker traffic will increase from the present 60 to an estimated 400 tankers.

Dear Editor, Re: “Mega home is hardly meant for farming in Richmond,” Letters , Dec. 28. The loss of Richmond agricultural land as outlined in Mr. Baines’ letter is just the tip of the iceberg.

Dear Editor, Re: “Benches take back seat at bus stops,” News , Jan. 11. Thank you for highlighting the problem with the replacement of the benches at many of the bus stops around Richmond.

Dear Editor, It’s not uncommon for people to complain about not being able to get a taxi in the Lower Mainland due to the shortage of cabs. Today, I had a great deal of trouble getting a cab for the opposite reason — there were too many.

I have two wonderful children and love being a mom, but the fact is, parenting can be brutal.
