Letter: Money won't put the brakes on bad driving in Richmond

A small stretch of River Road has seen more than its share of carnage, including this week, when Stefan Junker tried to pull a driver from an overturned, submerged car.

Dear Editor,

Re: “Misery Mile,” Feature, Jan. 13.

I’ve been driving and cycling the dyke roads of Richmond for many decades. The one main contributing factor that causes many accidents and deaths is the over abundance of irresponsible stupid drivers testing these very unforgiving roadways with excessive speed and carelessness.

No amount of public money trying to make the dyke roads safer will solve this problem of careless, foolish drivers.
