Dear Editor, Re: “Council shoots gown BB gun arena,” News , Jan. 7. What a relief to read that seven members of council had the good sense to say “No” to this business application and what a disappointment that two apparently do not.

Dear Editor, We all live in one home called Mother Earth. Mother Earth has many children in her family.

Dear Editor, Re: “MLA Reid cleared of any wrongdoing,” News , Jan. 9. Although Richmond East MLA Linda Reid’s expenses has concluded without any evidence of criminal wrongdoing by police, she is ethically wrong in spending lavishly taxpayers’ money.

Dear Editor, Re: “Name change needed, what about Riverdale Bridge?” Letters , Jan. 7. No. 2 Road Bridge is the extension of No. 2 Road.

TransLink is an organization everyone loves to hate. This week, the Canadian Taxpayers Federation highlighted yet another reason why when it pointed out that bus drivers pressed a “fare not paid” button 2.7 million times in 2013.

If you’re like me, you are probably tired of reading or watching all those lists of the Top 10 news stories from the past year.

Dear Editor, Nothing has changed or will change as a result of Richmond’s recent elections.

Dear Editor, Re: “You are what you eat,” Column , Jan. 7. In his article, Dr. Wong stated that “unhealthy and excessive fat intake can promote heart disease.” Current thinking about saturated fats has turned that warning on its head.

I f you’ve ever said, “I feel like a bacon double cheeseburge,” you probably forgot about the old expression,You are what you eat. Too often, we reflexively eat what we crave and think of food as a means to satisfy our hunger.

Dear Editor, Re: “Rename bridge after Rick Hansen,” Letters, Jan. 2. I agree with some other readers that the No. 2 Road Bridge should be renamed. After all, the present name is very dull.
