The AR MacNeill Ravens got the basketball season off to an impressive start by capturing the Pat Dooley Memorial Junior Boys Basketball Classic.

With one final tribute to their championship season taken care of, the RC Palmer Griffins have gone to work on the 2011-12 senior boys basketball campaign.

The Richmond Blues tuned up for the upcoming Richmond International Midget Hockey Tournament with a big win in the desert. The local AAA rep team traveled south where it captured the 11th annual Arizona Hockey Clubs Thanksgiving Shootout.

Richmond was well-represented this past week as the high school volleyball season concluded with various championships around the province.

For many runners its hard enough to get the old bones (young buns?) moving for 10 kilometers in perfect conditions, let alone having to cope with allergies which can make breathing difficult and turn a routine run into a tortuous test of will.

It was a tough weekend of racing in Langley for Richmond Rapids swimmers but also a great learning experience for all the athletes involved. The two day meet was great opportunity for novice and veteran competitors alike.
