Richmond native and Langara Falcons men's basketball standout Gurjote Jhaj has been named to the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association's (CCAA) All-Canadian team.

The announcement came at the recent CCAA National Championships in Nova Scotia.

"I'm honoured and excited to win an All-Canadian award this year," he said. "I had a great season playing with my teammates and I think that really helped me excel on the court."

Jhaj was a key player for the Falcons this season, leading the team in scoring with an average of 22.14 points per game.

"All-Canadians don't come along very often, and it's great to have Gurjote recognized as one this year," said Lanagra coach Jake McCallum. "Gurj loves the game of basketball, and he puts in a lot of extra time working on becoming a better player. Obviously it's paying off."
