Update: Power returns to more than 4,000 Richmond properties on Monday (Video)

A BC Hydro crew was on site to restore power.

Half a block of Bennett Road, at St. Albans Road, in Richmond is closed Monday after a tree fell across the street, knocking out power and damaging a Telus pole and several cars.

The large tree is being removed by City of Richmond crews.

Power returned to the neighbourhood after being off for almost eight hours early Monday morning.

More than 4,000 BC Hydro customers between Cooney and Lucerne roads and between Minoru Boulevard and Heather Street were without power.

In a video taken by Richmond resident Gregory Ould, the tree was spotted on top of several cars.

Bennett Road is expected to be opened on Tuesday.
