Jack Dinter and his older sibling Sam donated 690lbs of food to Richmond Food Bank Society last year.

This year hasn’t been an easy one.

But two young Richmond brothers want to mark the end of 2021 by spreading love and hope.

Jack Dinter, age six, and his older sibling, Sam, eight, are planning to donate money and non-perishable items to the Richmond Food Bank this holiday season, for the second year in a row.

Their mom, Caitlyn Brown, told the Richmond News that she and her children collected and donated 690 pounds of food to the food bank last year and aim to beat the number again this year.

“They are excited to continue the tradition of an act of kindness in our community. It’s also important for them (two sons) to feel a sense of community, when everyone is contributing to it.”

People who have any items to spare are welcome to contact Brown via Facebook, so she can come pick up the items on Dec.11.

Brown said the most-needed items are peanut butter, canned vegetables, baby food/formula, canned fruit, rice, whole grains, and gift cards.

If people would like to donate directly, they can find more details at Richmond Food Bank: https://richmondfoodbank.org/.
