Fair Trade Fair: Saturday, Dec. 2:

The annual fair is back in town at Gilmore Park United Church from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The fair has become an annual pilgrimage for many Richmondites who love to purchase seasonal gifts from groups representing artisans from impoverished countries around the world. The Fair Trade Fair is hosted by Richmond KAIROS, a Canadian group of churches and religious organizations working together for justice, peace and kindness in Canada and around the world.

From 12:15 to 2:30 p.m., classic cars of all shapes and sizes will cruise through Steveston Village in a motorized spectacle that’s not to be missed.

Presented by the Steveston Merchants Association, the Christmas Classic Car Cruise is a benefit for the Richmond Christmas Fund, which assists low-income families during the holiday season. As an entry fee, each driver makes a toy or cash donation to the program.

Entries include a ’53 Ford Pickup, ’26 Model T Ford, and ’64 Mustang Convertible, among many others.

The cruise itself will take place from 12:15 to 12:30 p.m. The vehicles will then remain on display until 2:30 p.m. in the area around the Gulf of Georgia Cannery and Steveston Hotel.
