1 Halloween Skate: Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 27, 28, 29:Come skate under special lighting to a mix of fun music that includes some perfect Halloween tunes. Costumes are highly encouraged too! Free skate rentals are offered to those wearing a costume. Friday goes from 6:30 to 8 p.m., Saturday is 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday is noon to 4 p.m. Regular admission rates. 2 Halloween at the Cannery: Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 28 and 29:

Halloween at the Gulf of Georgia Cannery National Historic Site takes place 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. both days at the cannery on 12138 Fourth Avenue, Steveston.

Dare to explore the haunted house, encounter ghoulish cannery characters, and earn your treats by playing tricks! Drop in any time between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. for this family-fun weekend. Admission to the museum is free; participation in the Halloween event is by donation. New this year will be the haunted house feature in the Herring Reduction Plant.

 

3 The Cannery Farmers’ Market: Sunday, Oct. 29: From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the cannery, 12138 Fourth Avenue, Steveston, browse the wares of local vendors and artisans from throughout the Lower Mainland, enjoy musical entertainment, and connect with community groups, all inside the historic Cannery in Steveston. The market will run on Sundays from October 2017 through April 2018 on the following dates: Oct. 29, Nov. 12 and 26, Dec. 3, 10 and 17, Jan. 28, Feb. 11 and 25, March 11 and 25, and April 8 and 22.
