Members of the Rotary Club of Richmond are aiming to raise thousands of dollars for victims of B.C. wildfires when they host a warehouse sale of wicker and rattan furniture this Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 26-27.

Foundation chair Dean Hsieh said the club was gifted the furniture by a member and it’s stacked several metres high in a warehouse on Cedarbridge Way, awaiting the cash sale.

“Rotary is always serving for the good of the community. These people need our help and it’s really just for the good of the community,” said Hsieh.

Much of the furniture came from Hong Kong. It has a total retail value of $90,000 and will be sold for 80 per cent off.

Most of the proceeds will go to wildfire victims, by way of rotary clubs in the Interior.

Some money will go to local endeavours the Richmond club is already taking part in.

The sale takes place at the back of the building at 5751 Cedarbridge Way, Aug. 26 at 10 a.m. and Aug. 27 at 3 p.m. Furniture is sold as is and sales are final.
