Richmond is celebrating Earth Week with more than 30 free and low-cost family-friendly activities.
From April 22 to 29, Richmond is inviting community members to discover sustainable practices and connect with nature through events at different parks across the city.
The event lineup ranges from pulling invasive species at King George Park to a session at Richmond Nature Park on how to use food scraps to create nutrient-rich soil.
A hands-on expert demonstration will also take place at Paulik Park to help gardeners of all levels boost their gardening skills.
Earth Week activities are put together by the City of Richmond in partnership with KPU's Sustainable Agriculture program, The Sharing Farm Society, the Lower Mainland Green Team, Urban Bounty, the Richmond Garden Club and local environmental partners.
Registration is required for most programs as space is limited.
