Dozens of Richmondites braved the freezing temperatures Saturday for the Coldest Night of the Year charity walk, raising money to help Richmond’s homeless, hungry and less fortunate.

Richmond’s walk was led by Chimo Community Services at Gilmore Park United Church, 8161 No. 1 Road.

Participants wore CNOY toques and walked a two-kilometre, five-kilometre or 10-kilometre route, with a warm-up celebration meal at the end.

Thousands of participants took part in similar walks in 130 cities across Canada. This was Chimo’s third year taking part in the Coldest Night of the Year.
