As B.C.’s longest-serving MLA, Linda Reid has built her reputation in the B.C. Legislature on her professional background in education, administration and community service. She is a well-respected and effective communicator, with an open-door policy and a genuine interest in those around her.

She has served as Speaker of the Legislative Assembly, one of the top three leadership positions in the province, since 2013 and as Deputy Speaker from 2009 to 2013. Prior to that, her ministerial responsibilities for early childhood development and childcare provided Reid the opportunity to bring her solid professional credentials to these critical areas of public policy.

Throughout her public service, Reid has worked to build a network of advisors comprised of people she serves outside the political process, whose counsel and wisdom guide her decisions and participation in policy development.
