Richmondites asked for opinions on revamping South Arm Park playground

The playground at South Arm Park could use a little TLC. Whether that takes the form of more swings, less slides or perhaps a teeter-totter or two, or a larger play area, will be up to Richmondites.

The playground at South Arm Park could use a little TLC.

Whether that takes the form of more swings, less slides or perhaps a teeter-totter or two, or a larger play area, will be up to Richmondites.

As part of the process of revamping the popular park’s playground, the City of Richmond is hosting two open houses this month to hear what Richmond residents want to see at the site.

At the drop-in open houses, residents can share ideas and learn about the planning process. These sessions will included all-ages activities, information boards and refreshments. The city’s parks department staff will also be present at both open houses to answer questions.

The open houses will take place at the South Arm Community Centre at 8880 Williams Road on Thursday, Sept. 26 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.; and Saturday, Sept. 28 from noon to 3 p.m.

From Sept. 26 to Sunday, Oct. 20, Richmondites can also visit LetsTalkRichmond.ca to fill out an online survey about the playground.

Construction of the new playground is expected to begin next year.

For more information, visit Richmond.ca/ParksProjects or call the parks department at 604-244-1208.
