Richmond Remembrance Day ceremony streamed online

Remembrance Day was a subdued affair in Richmond, and across Canada, as the COVID-19 pandemic kept crowds away for safety reasons. But the Richmond ceremony from the cenotaph by city hall was livestreamed and is available for viewing on YouTube.

Remembrance Day was observed at the cenotaph in Richmond on Nov. 11, but the public wasn't allowed to attend because of COVID-19 restrictions.

Remembrance Day was a subdued affair in Richmond, and across Canada, as the COVID-19 pandemic kept crowds away for safety reasons.

But the Richmond ceremony from the cenotaph by city hall was livestreamed and is available for viewing on YouTube.

The ceremony was led by MC Matthew McBride, a retired navy diver.

“By giving up their lives, they have preserved our heritage,” said McBride at the ceremony.
