Royal Bank of Canada has confirmed an employee at its No. 3 Road location recently tested positive for COVID-19 and the branch was closed for disinfection on Wednesday.

An RBC spokesperson told the Richmond News Thursday they have taken several steps to help stop the spread of the COVID-19.

“Upon learning of the situation, we took a number of immediate steps to protect the health and safety of our clients, employees and community, including temporarily closing the branch while we undertook a deep cleaning and disinfection of the branch. The branch is now open,” the statement reads.

“We have continued to strictly follow the guidance provided by local, federal and international public health and government authorities.”

RBC is encouraging its clients to use mobile or online banking during the pandemic.
