Richmond has seen the return of sunny weather for the last couple days, which calls for a physical distanced picnic in local parks and open area.
International Picnic Day celebrates the gathering of friends and family to eat and enjoy each other’s company on June 18.
Picnics can be traced back to the end of the French Revolution and the Victorian Era and were a way for people to escape the restrictions of etiquette and formality.
According to the Guinness Book of World Records, the largest picnic was held in Lisbon, Portugal on June 20, 2009 where over 22,000 people were in attendance.
