Richmond's Jones earns First Team All-Conference honours

For the first time in her university career, Richmond's Jessica Jones as a Great Northwest Athletic Conference First Team selection.

Richmond basketball standout Jessica Jones has earned Great Northwest Athletic Conference (GNAC) First Team All-Conference honours.

The red shirt junior guard is having a superb season at Simon Fraser University. 

The former McMath star is second in the conference in scoring with 17.3 points per game. She leads the conference and ranks 27th in all of NCAA Division II with 79 three-pointers made while also ranking 15th in Division II with 3.16 three-pointers per game.

It’s her debut as a All-Conference First Team selection after earning honourable mention honours last season.

Jones took her career to Burnaby Mountain after leading McMath to a second place finish at the BC Championships, earning first team all-star honours in the process.

Simon Fraser will kick off GNAC playoff action this Thursday as they take on Central Washington at 7:30 p.m. in Seattle.
