The Richmond Jets Minor Hockey Association will be hosting two sessions of Hockey Canada’s popular The First Shift program during the coming 2019-20 season.
The First Shift, which is now sponsored by the NHL and the NHLPA, is a wonderful and affordable way to introduce children, ages six-to-10, to the sport.
For just $199, the program provides new hockey equipment, including helmet and skates.
There is a Welcome Session followed by six more one-hour on-ice sessions. Children do not need to know how to skate to join.
A fall session will commence Sept. 28 and a winter session is slated to start Jan. 16, 2020.
Often participants will advance from this program to the Jets’ Intro-to-Hockey. That program, which costs $249, can also be done simultaneously but First Shift registration must be done first.
First Shift registration is expected to open soon. With limited spaces, both sessions are expected to fill up quickly.
Interested parents should email their child’s name and date of birth, along with phone number and address to TheFirstShift@richmondjetsmha.com
