Richmond athletes represented BC at the recent Special Olympics Canada Winter Games in Thunder Bay. Speed skater Nicky Chow returned home with a gold and bronze medal.

Richmond athletes represented their city proudly as members of Team BC at the recent 2020 Special Olympics Canada Winter Games in Thunder Bay, ON.

Held every two years, the five-day (Feb. 25-29) event featured competition in eight sports — alpine skiing, 5-pin bowling, cross-country skiing, curling, figure skating, floor hockey, snowshoeing and speed skating.

Speed skater Nicky Chow returned home with a gold and bronze medal. Brayden Pawers and Dick Richard were member’s of BC.’s floor hockey team that finished in fourth place. Curler Kris Cohen also helped his BC team to a fourth place finish.
