Minoru hosts marquee matches

In the all-star contest, Team Blue was led by Duncan Wood, a member of the second division Young Bloods team, as they triumphed to a 4-3 win over Team White.

In the President’s Cup match, Club Ireland Celtic romped to a 4-1 win over Firefighters FC. It was Club Ireland’s third cup final appearance in a row and the first time Firefighters FC had made it to the title game.

Club Ireland’s Matt Estepho slotted home a pair of goals, while Steve Valenzuela and Matt Leversage added singles for the win.

In the first division battle for the Challenge Cup, West Coast FC edged Rain City 2-1 in a hard fought contest.

This was West Coast FC’s first appearance in the Challenge Cup and first year in the first division

The result sends the squad on to the provincial finals, which features opening round play starting on April 22. The finals are scheduled for May in Burnaby.
