With nine returning players, defending Midget "A" provincial champion Richmond Ravens rolled through their pre-season schedule with seven straight wins.

The defending Midget “A” provincial champions in girls hockey already know they will be back in the mix come next March.

The Richmond Ravens will be hosting the championships for the third time in their history. They are coming off an outstanding 2018-19 campaign that culminated with a B.C. Hockey banner in Fort St. John.

It was also a memorable season for their head coach AJ Sander who was inducted to the Richmond Sports Wall of Fame and also presented the Fred Hislop Minor Hockey Award for his tireless volunteer work.

“It makes preparing a little bit different this year just knowing we are going to be there at the end of March,” said Sander. “This team is looking strong so far.”

With nine returning players, the Ravens will be heading to the Pittsburgh Thanksgiving Classic in November for the second time in their history. They are also hosting the Ravens Rep Classic that will have a number of out-of-town teams in the Midget Division, including a pair from Alberta.
