Junior Bantam Raiders take aim at 2nd win

Richmond hosts Westside on Sunday as part of football doubleheader at Minoru

Richmond Junior Bantam Raiders will be looking for their second straight win on home turf Sunday as the Vancouver Mainland Football League enters Week 3 of the fall season.

The Raiders evened their record at 1-1 in the VMFL 9-Man Division with a 24-6 win over the Royal City Hyacks last week. That came after a tough 12-0 season-opening loss on Sept. 2 to the Vancouver Westside Warriors.

Those same two teams meet again Sunday at Minoruas part of a doubleheader.

At noon the Richmond Midget Raiders will take on the Chilliwack Giants. Both 9-Man teams are looking to crack the win column with 0-1 records. The Raiders fell 38-8 in their season opener to Cowichan.

The Raiders are fielding teams in six VMFL Divisions for the first time in recent memory with Flag, Atom Flag, Pee Wee and Bantam squads also suiting up for the fall season.
