MacNeill Ravens and Steveson-London Sharks will meet in the semi-finals when the city senior boys championships resume on Wednesday at the "Shark Tank."

The Richmond Senior Boys Basketball Championships will have a Friday finish after all.

Tuesday’s district-wide snow-related school closures have pushed the tournament back a day with semi-final and consolation play slated to resume on Wednesday at Steveston-London Secondary. The final is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

In quarter-final action on Monday, the top seeds produced to impressive wins.

Regular season champion MacNeill Ravens defeated the McRoberts Strikers 97-70. That sets up a semi-final game Wednesday (5:45 p.m.) with the host Sharks who rolled to an impressive 84-54 win over the Hugh Boyd Trojans in a 4/5 seed match-up.

The bottom half of the draw also went to form with No. 2 Richmond Colts topping the Cambie Crusaders 81-33. The Colts will face defending champion McMath after the No. 3 Wildcats took care of the No. 6 McNair Marlins 86-67. That game tips-off at 7:30 p.m.

The Ravens and Colts both won the regular season head-to-head meetings with their semi-final opponents but needed significant rallies to do so after being down early.

Consolation games Wednesday will include McRoberts taking on Boyd at 2:15 p.m. and Cambie facing McNair at 4 p.m. as those teams look to stay in the hunt for berths into their respective Lower Mainland Championships at the Richmond Olympic Oval.
