Anyone who has spent some time observing local politics from the ground level will recognize this story. There is a controversy - over a tax or a rezoning or a plan to give marshmallow peeps to orphans, it matters not.

The Editor, Re: "Wong stands by decision to eat shark fin," News, Oct. 17. I am appalled by Alice Wong's attitude on this issue.

The Editor, Re: "Wong stands by decision to eat shark fin," News, Oct. 17. It is quite unacceptable to read and listen to the disgusting practices of the people.

It's hard to imagine what Alice Wong's office was thinking when it decided to hold a press conference at which our local MP would slurp down a bowl of perhaps the most controversial item on the political menu - shark fin soup.

The Editor, Re: "Wong stands by decision to eat shark fin," News, Oct. 17. Alice Wong is amazing, a few weeks back, she was very happy to have a chauffer in Ottawa, it was such a time-saver.
