I don’t attend a lot of conferences ­— particularly at 8:30 on a Sunday morning. But, after some grumbling about the ungodly hour, I did make an exception and took in some of the Housing Central Conference held last weekend in Richmond.

Dear Editor, Re: “Richmond Hospital surgeons carve success,” News , Nov. 15. I was so pleased to see the honour bestowed on the surgical teams at Richmond Hospital. From my experience, I would say that honour is richly deserved.

Dear Editor, Re: “Port eyes cruise ship terminal in Richmond,” News, Nov. 8. I certainly understand both the constraints of the Lions Gate Bridge and the need to compete with Seattle.

Dear Editor, Re: “Trustee: Stop sending our youth mixed pot messages,” Letters, Nov. 17. When are the reefer madness people going to let it go? For three generations, marijuana prohibition has been tried and is a complete failure.

Dear Editor, Re: “School trustee needs history lesson,” Letters, Nov. 17. I fully support Mayor Brodie and councillors plus trustees Ho and Hamaguchi and other like-minded persons with their pot legalization concerns.

When I met with my financial planner before I retired, I didn’t pay too much attention to what he said. I should have.

Having lived on Britannia Drive for three decades, I was keen to visit Britannia Brewing’s tap house in Steveston and sample their local brews.
