Dear Editor,
Re: “Richmond Hospital surgeons carve success,” News, Nov. 15.
I was so pleased to see the honour bestowed on the surgical teams at Richmond Hospital. From my experience, I would say that honour is richly deserved.
I have had the “luck” to have three surgeries at Richmond Hospital in the last few months. Each experience has reflected the same high standards and expertise of the surgical team there. I have had excellent care from two different surgeons, three different anesthetists and a number of nurses and other staff members. From pre-admission through the recovery room I have each time felt I was receiving the best possible care.
From my experience as a volunteer at Richmond Hospital, I am aware that similar high standards of medical care and patient safety are pursued with dedication throughout the hospital.
Having said all that, as anyone who has spent much time in or around the hospital knows, the physical plant is ailing and the need for proposed north tower is becoming steadily more urgent.
