Dear Editor, The BLM movement is about our basic human rights. The Black community is not being afforded the same rights of equality in many corners of our society. It should be an open and shut case, but it is not.

Open letter to Mr. Hanssens, Re: “ Apology for racist rant offered ,” Letters , June 18. I commend you for coming forward publicly to apologize, and we as a group accept your apology.

With Canada Day rapidly approaching, this year will be totally different. Here in Richmond, there’ll be no Canada Day parades, no Steveston Salmon Festival, nor big July 1st parties.

Dear Editor, Re: “Who is profiting from seniors?” Voices, June 11. A number of years ago I read in the financial advice magazine Moneysense if you really want your money to work for you, invest in a nursing home. Well, now we know why.

I watch math videos on YouTube for fun. For a lot of people that’s probably a strange concept. Math has always been considered “hard”, and for the really advanced stuff, it is.

Fifty-nine years ago, my parents and I took our first trip back to Germany after having emigrated in 1956. It was August 1961, and we flew on Canadian Pacific Airline’s Britannia turboprop aircraft, flight 352 from Vancouver to Amsterdam.
