The Editor, Re: "See bigger picture NIMBYs," Letters, Aug. 02. Ken Shultz states the "greenway" construction was not a surprise, mentioned many times in the local papers with the route clearly marked. Oh really.

The Editor, Re: "'Soil cops' need sustainable funding," News, July 26. Hats off to Thomas Loo for having the courage to speak up about failures in governing the protection of farmland.

The Editor, Re: "Asphalt isn't green," Letters, July 31. I want to reply to the NIMBYs who are upset about the bike path being constructed as the last part of the Railway Greenway trail, directly behind the Railway Community Gardens.

Looking back on the 2010 Olympics, there was a lot for us to be proud of, like our haul of gold and our remarkably smooth running of the games. But this week, one other thing stands out in hindsight.
