If you’re on the fence about adopting a new pet, this special offer from BC SPCA shelters may just win you over. For one day only this month, they’ll be taking 50% off the adoption fees for domestic animals in their care, province-wide.

Head to your local BC SPCA branch on Saturday, Oct. 13 to “Fall Head Over Tails in Love” with your new furry friend.

Domestic animals, like dogs, cats, kittens, rats and rabbits will be eligible for 50 per cent off the adoption fee and BC Pet Registry fee, says the BC SPCA, while discount rates for any farm animals will be decided on a case-by-case basis.

“Each one of our branches is committed to finding loving homes for these animals,” says Mark Takhar, BC SPCA’s chief operations officer. “Welcoming a rescued animal into your home can be an exciting time for everyone involved. Our top priority is to ensure that every animal finds their perfect people, so our usual matching process will still be in effect for this event.”

The best part about you giving a new home to an animal friend is that the shelter then has an opening to bring another animal in need into their care.

“We want to make sure no animal is left behind, and this event in particular – a groundbreaking one for the BC SPCA – will allow us to help other vulnerable animals throughout the province,” adds Takhar.

You can find more info about the adoption event and other FAQs via the BC SPCA.
