Richmond’s 13-year-old yo-yo star Terrance Wang is the national champion in the open division for the second year running.

Terrance, a DeBeck elementary Grade 7 student, followed up his win in Toronto last year by retaining his title in Vancouver over the long weekend at the Canadian National Yoyo Championships.

Last year, Terrance, at age 12, was the youngest yo-yo player to hold the Canadian national championship title.

He began yo-yoing when he was seven-years-old and learned most of his skills and tricks on his own or through the Internet.

Terrance has been competing since 2015 and has won many medals in yo-yo contests across Canada, the United States and at school talent shows.
