Canada’s women’s volleyball team will be hoping for some home court advantages during the FIVB World Grand Prix — one of the premier international tournaments for women’s volleyball — taking place at the Richmond Oval this summer.
The Oval, the team’s new, B.C.-based home, will host six matches — July 21 – 23 among four teams in the tournament’s Group 2 that includes Canada, Germany, Peru and Czech Republic.
This will likely be the only chance for Canadians to see this calibre of women’s volleyball on home soil, as the tournament’s format will change and be re-branded in 2018.
It’s also the first year for the women’s team in its new BC-based home at the Richmond Olympic Oval and with a new coaching staff.
