Richmond golfer Estee Leung has once again been named to the 2020-21 Great Northwest Athletic Conference Women’s Golf All-Academic Team.

The Mayfair Lakes product, who now stars for the Simon Fraser University (SFU) team, has recorded a solid stroke average on the links and 3.66 grade point average in the classroom.

According to SFU Athletics, this is Leung’s third straight year achieving GNAC All-Academic distinction and last year she was also honoured as a WGCA NCAA Division II Scholar All-American.

She carries a 3.66 GPA in Biomedical Physiology.

Although SFU golfers did not compete this season due to the global pandemic, the women’s team finished the COVID-19 shortened 2019-20 season ranked 18th in NCAA Division II. Leung was named GNAC All-Conference First Team.

To qualify for the GNAC All-Academic Teams, nominees must be of sophomore eligibility or greater, have a minimum cumulative GPA or 3.20 or greater, be a letterwinner on their team and must be in their second year at the nominating institution.
