A hectic stretch of soccer is continuing this week in California for Summer Clarke.

The talented striker from Richmond was one of four provincial team players incited to the national U17 team training camp in Carson, CA.

Clarke, along with Jasmine Mander (Delta), Kathryn Baker (Vancouver) and Kajal Parmar (Surrey), were selected by Canadian head coach Bryan Rosenfeld as he builds towards the FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup in 2012 to be held in Azerbaijan.

The 11-day camp, which commenced on Saturday, features a pair of international matches against Japan.

All four girls recently starred for B.C. in the recent Nutrilite All Stars National Championships held in Hamilton, ON where they won bronze and the Western Canada Games in Kamloops where they won Gold.

"They are all outstanding players with the necessary qualities required to play at the international level," said Markus Reinkens, B.C. Soccer Staff Coach and Head Coach of theU16 provincial team. "They have worked very hard to get where they are today and I am very proud and excited for the players. I know they will represent our province and their communities with class."

Back in July, Clarke helped her own club team, the Richmond Red Hot Selects, capture the U16A Provincial Cup with a 4-0 win over Prince George. The result sends the Red Hot Selects to the Club National Championships on Thanksgiving Weekend in Calgary.

The Selects are coached by Summer's father - Clive Clarke - while her older brother Caleb is a promising player in the Vancouver Whitecaps system. He was part of the club's Residency Program and was promoted to the Reserve Team where he set up one of Vancouver's goals in a 3-2 loss to Portland on Sunday.
