Richmond FC women won silver at the Jubilee National Championship held last week in St. John’s, Nfld. Richmond had won their round robin pool to advance to the gold medal game by defeating New Brunswick, Saskatchewan and Alberta, but lost to Quebec 2-0 in the championship match held Monday. It was the first time in 30 years that a Richmond team had made it to the Jubilee National Championship game, while this was the fourth appearance for Quebec in the finals in the past six years. In addition to winning the silver medal, Richmond was also given the Fair Play Award for the team with the fewest number of cards.
