New basketball court coming to Richmond’s Heather Dolphin Neighbourhood Park.

The basketball court at a Richmond park is getting a new look this summer.

Heather Dolphin Neighbourhood Park's basketball court was recently closed for upgrades as part of the city's infrastructure renewal program.

Work on the court, which cost around $30,000, began in April and is expected to be completed with the court reopened by the end of May, according to city spokesperson Clay Adams.

The court's new surface has been painted a bright blue, a colour that is "becoming increasingly common on courts as it contrasts well with orange basketballs," he added.

There will also be new hoops and backboards.
