Richmond Sockeyes Brodie Crawford is denied on this chance by Delta Ice Hawks Jacob Latrace in last Tuesday's 3-2 double overtime loss.

An early season power outage went a long way to keeping the Richmond Sockeyes out of the win column last week.
The Sockeyes went 0-15 with the man advantage in dropping games to the Delta Ice Hawks and Aldergrove Kodiaks to sit 1-1-0-2 heading into Thursday’s Pacific Junior Hockey League encounter with the Abbotsford Pilots at Minoru Arenas (7 p.m.).
Richmond outshot the Ice Hawks 46-33 last Tuesday but dropped a 3-2 road decision in double overtime. Connor Alderson’s goal with 1:27 left in regulation tied the game at 2-2 but it was the game the Sockeyes had more than enough opportunities to bury the hosts.
A pair of 2-men advantages in the second period didn’t produce a goal and the Sockeyes finished night going 0-10 on the power play. Seafair product Jacob Latrace was terrific in the Delta net, making 44 saves, including 17 in the middle stanza.
Captain Tyler Andrews had the other goal, while Jack Stradiotti made 30 saves in his Richmond debut after being acquired from Port Moody.
Richmond was blanked on five more power play chances two nights later on home ice, but the Kodiaks were full value for a 5-1 win, enjoying a 46-30 advantage in the shot department. The visitors took full control with four unanswered goals in the second period after Brendan Marfleet’s first of the season had tied the game.
Kurt Russell made 41 saves in a losing cause.
