The Richmond Blues Triple A team lifted their fourth provincial title in a row after seeing off local rivals Richmond Seafair Monday night.

Despite the first two periods being tight at the Ice Centre, with the Blues scoring once in each frame to lead 2-0, the reigning champions hit the gas in the last third, netting four more unanswered markers to seal the B.C. flag.

"The boys turned it on pretty good in the final period," said Blues coach Maurice Hamlin.

"This is the fourth year in a row they've won the provincial title and that's a pretty remarkable achievement."

The gold medal game was the culmination of a weekend-long round-robin for the Blues who, as league and Pacific Coast champions, were the hot favourites to win.
