A single-vehicle incident sent one woman to the hospital with significant injuries.

Richmond RCMP is asking for witnesses and dashcam footage after a single-vehicle incident last Thursday sent a driver to the hospital.

A black Mercedes was travelling southbound on No. 6 Road, between Kutney's Richmond Soils and Triangle Road, when it left the road, hit an embankment and "landed straddling the ditch" just before 10:45 p.m. on April 4.

"The driver was ejected from the vehicle into a water-filled ditch. Fortunately, a passerby stopped and rendered assistance," said Richmond RCMP.

The driver suffered significant injuries and was taken to the hospital. She still remains in critical condition.

Police said speed and impairment are factors being considered in the accident.

Investigation of the incident is still active and ongoing.

Anyone with footage between 10:30 and 10:45 p.m. in the area on April 4 is asked to contact Richmond RCMP quoting file number 2024-10558.
