More than 200 Richmondites, ages five to 80, make up the Richmond News’ frontline workers.
Every Thursday, 236 carriers and five drivers, covering 450 routes, deliver copies of the News to your doorsteps and throughout the community.
Some carriers have been delivering the News for three decades now. Meanwhile, a number of seniors and individuals with special needs help deliver papers through day programs run by the Richmond Society for Community Living.
Pre-teens and teens have also picked up extra routes to cover those that were left empty after COVID-19 started.
So, as a way to show our appreciation for our own essential workers, the News’ reporters and sales team have put together a video thanking all of our carriers for their dedication during these trying times.
At the Richmond News, we recognize that unless our paper gets into your hands, our jobs aren’t worth much. We salute you.
