Video footage has surfaced of a man casually walking around a Chinese restaurant in Richmond before snatching a woman’s purse and sprinting away.
The security video shows the suspect apparently casing the tables at the Royal Seafood Restaurant at Blundell and Garden City Roads at around noon on Friday, July 21.
He then walks close by one of the tables before grabbing the seated customer’s bag and dashing out of the restaurant.
“According to the complainant, an unknown man came into the restaurant and allegedly stole a purse,” said Cpl. Adriana O’Malley, Richmond RCMP spokesperson.
“The man then left the area on foot.”
Security footage of the incident was circulated on social media, showing a man in black walking behind a patron before dashing out of the restaurant.
The suspect is described as an Asian man in his 20s who is five foot seven with a slim build.
He wore a black baseball hat, black hoodie, black pants and a blue surgical mask.
