Vancouver Airport Authority donates food hampers to Quest Food Exchange

Vancouver Airport Authoritys (VAA) vice president of community and environmental affairs Anne Murray presented Quest Food Exchange with the first of 500 food hampers.

Vancouver Airport Authoritys (VAA) vice president of community and environmental affairs Anne Murray presented Quest Food Exchange with the first of 500 food hampers. Representatives of VAA and YVR retailers, partners, volunteers and employees donated the hampers.

VAA is the official transportation sponsor of Quest and to date, the YVR community has donated more than $120,000 cash and $130,000 worth of food to the organization. This means that more than 2,100 kilograms of airport waste has been diverted from the landfill.

Quest Food Exchange collects and distributes overstocked, mislabeled or near-expiry products that would otherwise go to waste and gives that food to people who need it.
