TransLink is warning transit users in Richmond and Metro Vancouver for possible delays during Tuesday’s commute due to a snowfall alert.
Environment Canada released a special weather statement on Monday warning of “significant snow” of up to 20 centimetres for Tuesday.
TransLink is encouraging customers to leave extra travel time and to “bundle up” for the weather including wearing proper footwear to avoid slipping.
In anticipation of Tuesday’s snowfall, the transit agency is coordinating with cities to clear priority routes, calling in extra staff, increasing Millennium Line trains to four-cars and more.
In January, a snowstorm impacted bus routes and skytrain services throughout Metro Vancouver with TransLink advising commuters to stay off the roads if they can as.
#SkyTrain #RiderAlert Winter Weather conditions are coming! Bus and SkyTrain may be impacted across the system tomorrow. Please allow extra travel time and bundle up! ^sp
